Our Process

Initial Meeting

Building your dream shore home is a big undertaking. During our initial meeting we'll discuss your goals, how you plan to use the home, your wish list, and the details of our process. This meeting is our chance to get to know each other and decide if we're a good fit to begin the project together.

The Dream Phase

During The Dream Phase we will dive into your 'wish list' for the home. We'll work together to prioritize the list so that we can deliver designs that match your needs, wants, and resources. As part of The Dream Phase we will discuss how you live and how you plan to spend your time in the home. Our team will respect financial goals and will discuss budgets with you in detail. Understanding where you'd like to prioritize your budget is important to the process and allows us to keep our suggested features within your comfort zone. Once we finalize a list of features and a budget we'll move into The Design Phase.

The Design Phase

The Design Phase is where your dreams become blueprints. Our team will guide you through meetings with the selected architect, kitchen designer, interior designer, lighting engineer, and landscape architect. By joining you at all of these meetings we're able to keep the plans on budget and ensure your overall vision is present in each piece of the home. The end result of this phase is final blueprints ready for permitting.

The Build Phase

The Build Phase begins when we receive our approved permits and begin work on the property. For some this includes demolition of an existing structure, for others it's starting from scratch at an empty lot. Whichever the case, our team will be there daily to oversee each step of the process. Oliver Custom Home Builders provides hands-on construction management, including overseeing specialty trade partners and managing much of the physical build internally.

Staying up-to-date is easy, even if you're across the country, thanks to our Client Portal. Your private portal contains access to photos, video tours, information on selections, status sheets, invoicing, and project timeline tracking. As part of the project we will have a regular check-in meeting scheduled with you (virtual or in person). This meeting will enable us to answer any questions about the build and provide a more detailed status update.

Welcome Home

Once construction is complete it's time to welcome you home! Before the keys are handed over your home will be professionally cleaned and we'll schedule a day to walk the property with you and 'introduce' you to your home, including any mechanicals and operations. During the meeting we will work together to create an itemized punch list. Doing this now allows us to complete everything before you move in. When it's time to move-in we'll hand over your keys and provide you with the appropriate warranty information. And even though construction is done, we're always just a phone call or email away if you ever need us.
